Introduced by Sen. Tom Hancock (D) on January 12, 2009, to provide for a watershed improvement fund to enhance water quality in the state through a variety of impairment-based, locally directed watershed improvement grant projects. The bill increases the period of use for such awards from three to five years and provides that during those five years, the board may extend the period of use for an additional five years.
