    Iowa voting system

    Hello to all Iowans!

I was wondering if someone on here could tell me how the Iowa Legislature votes - that is, what is the process? Is voting in secret or public and do they use machines or voting forms etc.? If you could direct me to somewhere on this site or let me know by mail at adamabyss@yahoo.com

    Thank you for your help.

     Adam,

Roll call votes are recorded in the House and Senate journals which are online shortly after votes are taken, usually the same day.  Go to www.legis.state.ia.us/index.html to get to the Iowa Legislature home page, then click on "Publications" in the menu at the left of your screen, and you will go to a screen that has a link to the journals.  Voice votes are, of course, just that.  Iowa Votes will begin with the first day of the 2010 session to record the votes on our easily navigated website.  I will inquire as to whether or ot they use forms or machines and post an answer.
